Dracula - Northern Alberta Jubilee - Walking distance from Campus Tower Suite Hotel

Alberta Ballet presents Dracula

Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
November 4 to 5, 2016

Something dark awaits you. Hearts race and cheeks blush as Dracula sweeps you away to a charming village in Transylvania. Enter with the innocence of an innkeeper’s daughter and lose yourself in this legendary and opulent masterpiece, which offers more operatic theatre than horror movie kitsch. Lavish costumes lurk in every corner and vampires take flight with mesmerizing choreography and extraordinary special effects that boast high production values and the wow factor of a Broadway musical.

Featuring the grandest of production details, Dracula is a spectacle that you rarely see today, but one that will stay with you for a lifetime. Get inside the artistic mind of ballet royalty, Sir Ben Stevenson, internationally renowned choreographer whose works include Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty. While the costumes, set and score are from the Texas Ballet Theater, the performances come alive with Alberta’s best dancers, who prove that not everything in Texas is bigger. From the time Dracula enters the stage with his 23-foot long cape until Sweet Svetlana meets her fate, it’s an extravagant evening that will transfix you from the first kiss to the last bite.
